Mr. Biden, It’s Time For Your Pudding

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

That is one of the most well-known sentences from arguably THE most famous document ever written. With those words, Thomas Jefferson ushered into being the greatest nation on Earth, and those words have echoed throughout the world to this day.

That document, our Declaration of Independence, and those words should be known by all Americans, and until recently, were taught in our schools.

In fact, anyone over the age of 35 is, or should be as familiar with that sentence as they are with their own names…

But not Joe Biden, who is plenty old enough to have been taught those words, and damned near old enough to remember when they were written. To be fair, Biden wasn’t in the chamber the day those words were first read aloud, but he was outside the hall holding Jefferson’s horse.

He has served this country as a Senator for the past 130 years or so, he’s been the Vice President of these United States, the very country founded upon those words, and yet, this week at a campaign stop in Texas, Joe Biden, trying to whip the dwindling crowd into a frenzy told them this…“We hold these truths to be self-evident: all men and women created by- go- you know- you know the thing.”

The THING?

First of all, one would think that someone who has the history of plagiarizing Biden has would at least be able to get the quote correct, even if he doesn’t ultimately believe it, and like it or not, Jefferson never mentioned “women” in that famous sentence, as back then, it wasn’t considered to be sexist, it was considered that by “men” in such context, the author meant literally “all humans.”

Second off, he then left completely out of the quote the word, “equal” which is essential to the meaning of the quote, and then he omitted the whole “that they are endowed by their…” which is also a key element of that founding document.

But… created by- go- you know- you know the thing?” The THING?

As in “their Creator?” THAT thing?

Now, Biden was either talking about “their Creator” being “the thing,” or he was referring to the Declaration itself as being, “the thing.”

Honestly, I have NO idea what he was talking about, and I suspect, neither did he.

Referring to “Super Tuesday” as “Super Thursday” is somewhat forgivable, as from time to time we all forget our schedules, referring to Chris Wallace as Chuck Todd is somewhat understandable, as both their names start with the letter “C” and both are left wing nuts. Claiming that you were arrested and spent time in jail…in South Africa…with Nelson Mandela borders on a lie told by a liberal lunatic who thinks he running for the presidency in Cape Town.

However…

If you ever find yourself running for President of the United States, and you can’t remember the name of the document from which that quote comes, or you can’t call to mind the reference Jefferson made to the inventor of humanity…you need to beat a hasty retreat OUT of the race, and straight towards the nearest home for senile old politicians.

Mr. Biden, it’s time for your pudding.
